Orange and Blue Challenge.

Now when my friend Helen and I challenged each other this month, it was inspired by an article in a very old edition of Creating Keepsakes magazine of beach themed tags that were orange and blue!
Not colours that immediately spring to mind when thinking of grouping colours together but it worked in the magazine so we thought we would roll with it and see what we come up with.

My starting point was the photos of our cat Molly who has splashes of orange fur, then I searched my stash for blue and orange papers. I was really pleased that I found some old papers that suited my idea for the design of my page. I must admit the two colours we chose to use came together better than I imagined and perhaps I will be more adventurous in the future with my colour palette.

Helen's starting point was Goofy and the fact that her daughters were wearing blue jeans. The photo was taken during the Halloween celebrations at Disney Paris hence the spiderweb paper and the leggy friends crawling around the page. Helen tried to use the real spiders in her scrap shed but they wouldn't sit still long enough for me to take a photo of her page so she had to stick paper ones on instead!!

Our next challenge is to scrap a wedding page (or two as I have wedding photos that will take up more than one page). So I look forward to sharing them with you after Helen and I have our next crafty day together.

Here is the sketch I used to challenge the members of Bradfield Craft Club a couple of weeks ago. It is a gorgeous sketch from Pagemaps and I loved it as soon as I saw it on the Pebbles blog.

Here is my page.

This is the card sketch, again from Pagemaps (Dec 2011).

Our next challenge is a colour one but it will be 3 weeks before we meet up again due to the bank holiday.

Thanks for popping by.

Hellooooo!!!!

Ok, now I have been getting told off (in the nicest possible way) that I have neglected my blog for long enough and it's high time I got my act together and spent some time in blogland instead of attending my garden, doing housework and losing myself in supernatural paperbacks!
So here I am with some cards to show you that I have done lately.
I have just finished this little boys card, using cute boat images from Erin Bradley and lots of foam pads to add dimension to the waves.

This card I made for my youngest daughter's 10th birthday this week, the panda image is a stamp from Trimcraft.
Last of all is a card I made for my eldest daughters 16th birthday which was last month. The banners were Erin Bradley again and the sweet cupcake topper was from Pebbles.
I will be back soon with some scrapbook pages as soon as I have photographed them and find the time to post them, although not much gardening going on if this rain doesn't let up! so it may be sooner rather than later.
