Sarah's Cards Challenge.

Well here I am again entering Sarah's Cards challenge by the skin of my teeth, I always seem to think I have plenty of time and then all of a sudden there is two days left to submit! But I made it!
Here is the sketch we had to work with this month and as usual I find their sketches simple enough that you have room to put your own spin on it.
I am still plowing through my holiday photo's but enjoying it immensely.

I have kept real close to the sketch because of the photo's I wanted to work with and layered up the title bar at the bottom. The strips of paper around the outside make it look as if I can't take photo's for toffee but they were intentionally put on the wonk it just looks like the photo of the page is distorted! If you click on the photo you will see what I'm rambling on about.

The papers that I used were some really old Crate Paper ones that went perfect with the photo on the left and then I added some black into the mix to bring in the other photo.

A last little close up of the top right hand corner.

I have some more pages finished but am running out of time today, so I will be back soon to share them with you.
Have a great day.

Creative Scrappers Sketch 233.

Here I am back with another holiday page and this time the challenge is for Creative Scrappers sketch number 233 (I'm a bit behind).

The photo shows us outside the villa that we hired that was called Can Baso and I took my inspiration from the colours in the photo. The chevrons were cut and then placed inside a large Polaroid-ish frame.

The flowers were cut out by hand and I was in two minds as to whether or not I should colour them in but my skill with a felt tip leaves a lot to be desired and they go really well with the white/ grey of the drive in the photo.

A couple of close-ups of some of the other elements on the page.

Here is sketch 233.
Hop on over to Creative Scrappers if you don't already follow them as they have some amazing sketches and wonderful inspiration each week.

She Loves to Skate.

I have been meaning to scrap these photo's of my niece for a while and as usual the perfect challenge came up at Scrap The Girls blog this month of Teal, Orange and White.
My Niece has been ice skating for quite a few years and she is still only nine years old! These photo's were taken in 2009 during a competition, doesn't she look amazing?

As usual due to the British weather yesterday the photo's of my pages aren't as bright as I would like but try clicking on the images for a better view.
All the elements on the page are from different manufacturers and I won't go through them all as life is too short.

I did get some new black and teal washi tape last week and I was so pleased when they went perfectly with my page, so much fun to use.

As you can see the glitter card came out AGAIN for my title and for the butterflies on the page.

This Scrap the Girls challenge is on until 30th November, so still a few days to get you scissors and glue out to have a go!

Another Holiday Page.

I am really enjoying scrapping my holiday photo's from our trip to Ibiza this summer. Maybe because the photo's are so different to the ones I would normally scrap as we have not done a beach holiday for many years.
The page was done using a bingo challenge that I set Bradfield Craft Club last week and the combination I chose was blue, paint and buttons.

Most of the page is made up of digital elements that I found free on the internet, it's amazing how much free stuff there is out there no matter what your scrapping style is.
Yes that is me in the photo for a change and I even entrusted my DSLR to my youngest daughter whilst in the middle of a bay on a pedalo! (the sun must have got to my head).

I can't seem to make my title from anything but glitter card at the moment, it calls to me from my stash whenever I am about to cut my letters out.

My buttons are some felt beauty's that I got from Sarah's cards a couple of weeks ago and they look so cute I really should take the time to make some of my own but I not patient with a needle.

I have a couple of pages finished for challenges so will be back soon to show them to you.
Hope you had a great weekend.

Cozy Cat.

Our cats have it really rough as do most loved pets, they are fed, combed and generally pampered, not to mention they usually get to sleep when and where they please.
Molly is completely spoilt as she can be so adorable and has the cutest face and the softest fur. She is not so keen on having her photo taken though and either looks away or gives me the evil stare as if to say 'Do Not Disturb'.

I have made this page for the DT Call at the Sketch~N~Scrap blog  using the sketch below.

Bird houses seem to be finding their way onto my pages and cards a lot lately!

We all love tags, don't we?

These cute owls are cut from paper by American Crafts (you know I heart AC).

The design team call at Sketch~N~Scrap is open until 17th November so you still have a little time to apply.

123 Challenge.

This month over at the 123 Challenge blog the recipe is PASTELS, the word SWEET and to use WIRE and as I very rarely use pastels and have never used wire on my pages that I can remember I thought 'now there is a challenge for me'.
Of course first I had to actually find some pastel papers in my stash but I scraped together enough for a page!
Here is my page for the challenge and I think I managed to tick all the boxes. Click on the image for a better view as the weather here in UK is a bit dull to say the least and is not good for getting decent photo's.

For the wire I managed to get two different techniques this first one I wired the bunting with little tags which were stamped with a word or image.

I also strung some beads and sequins onto some thin silver wire and placed them across the heart border.

Lastly a little close up of the left corner cluster where I put a little birdhouse stamp (so cute).

Thanks for popping by and hope you are enjoying your week so far.

It's Mostly Red!

Hi there crafty friends, I have a page to show you today that I made for a design team application where you had to use white, red and stamping.
I love red but stamping is one thing that scares me, as once you have stamped your image that's it you can't take it off again!!!!
But I put my big girl pants on and went for it.

Please click for larger image.
I started off using my home made hexagon mask to draw directly onto the cardstock and then cut some of them out and backed the holes with pattern paper taken from my most recent purchase a stack called 'Paper Hearts' by Crate Paper. There are some random stamping images all over and also the flowers and leaves are stamped. The scary part was the word 'sweet' as it was double stamped straight onto the cardstock to give it a 3D effect.

A few of my usual close ups.

I will know if I made the team by the end of the month and will be so excited you will be the first to know. Until then I am off to start a page for my craft club bingo challenge, till then have a great week.
