The Studio Challenges has three challenges this month and today is the reveal of the second one - patterned paper background.
I had been hoarding this pretty butterfly paper not wanting to cut into it, so when the patterned paper background challenge was decided I thought it was the perfect opportunity to not cut into it but use it as a complete sheet for a layout.
The photo shows my middle daughter wearing some stripey tights that went with a witch dress-up outfit but she had paired them with a girly skirt and top that in no way went together! She thought it was funny though and even let me snap a photo!
I made a photo mat using more paper from the same range and some vellum. I also hand stitched around the mat to help separate it from the background and add some texture. I created the title with my Silhouette.
The felt hearts were die-cut with my Bigshot and the bows were made using a template.
I really hope you find time to play along with us at The Studio Challenges with this background challenge. All the details can be found on the blog HERE.
Also The Studio Challenges has a DT call out at the moment here are the details..

I can't blame you for not wanting to cut into this pretty paper. I love the way you layered another butterfly over some of the background butterflies.
ReplyDeleteYou embellished this page perfectly - it adds to the background paper and complements the photo as well. Brilliant.
