Good Morning Cinderella.

Hi crafty friends, there is the second colour challenge over at Color Me Scrappy and it's such a pretty combo that I'm sure you will want to play along.

Twist: use wood (paper, wood chips, twigs ... be creative!)

Here is my page and it's another attempt to get scrapping a Disney holiday from 2011!

Here are my girls and their cousins having a hug from Cinderella before we went to have breakfast in the Disney Castle! It was an amazing experience and if you are going to Florida this year I recommend booking the Castle Breakfast.

For the wood twist in the challenge I coloured a wooden camera with my Promarkers in Antique Pink and added some glitter but it came out quite dark! When I placed it on the page though it sort of co-ordinated with the red t-shirts in the photo so I left it on the page.

'Cinderella' was cut out with some white glitter foam and the 'Good Morning' was made up with tiny alpha stickers.

Keeping Cool By The Pool.

I bit the bullet with the page I have to share with you today. I created a double page with the February 15th sketch challenge over at Sketch N Scrap! I'm certainly not a lover of two page spreads but sometimes you need to scrap multiple photo's together as was the case with these holiday photo's.

This is the sketch for the second challenge this month and was designed by the wonderful Kelly Holifield.

The sketch was used for the left hand of my page and then I mirror imaged it and added more of my photo's on the right.

The sunburst effect was made using American Crafts My Girl line of papers.

The main part of the title was put in a couple of the rays using AC Thickers.

These little 'drops' co-ordinated nicely with the colours in my papers and fit with the water theme so I scattered a few around the pages.

S.W.A.K. Challenge With Scrap Our Stash.

Hello scrappy friends and today I have a page to share with you that I made for the first of the challenges at Scrap Our Stash for February.

Here's how this challenge works:
Create a layout with Red AND/OR Pink (50% of layout) with the following stash items: 

S. - Stitching (machine, hand or faux), W. - Washi Tape
A. - Arrow, K. - Kraft paper/embellishment
(Arrow, wash tape and kraft embellishments must be PREMADE/PACKAGED scrap products and each letter MUST be a separate item.)

Here is my page using the challenge requirements.

The background paper (Pebbles Basics) covers the pink/red 50% of layout.

S- My hand stitching outlines my painted sunburst.

W- The chevron washi I used is my favourite from My Minds Eye.

A- A pink arrow with a 'sweet' sticker on it.

K-  The LOVE kraft paper is from American Crafts.

I also mounted some of the washi onto some cardstock and used it as part of my embellishment cluster under the photo.

The little pink arrow is actually a post-it tab that I got from a stationers a while ago and these cute foam stickers are from Paperchase (they do some lovely stickers sheets, for those of you that live in the UK).

Inspired By.....

Just last month Sketch N Scrap launched a new monthly challenge called Inspired By where a sketch is made from one of the DT's pages. The rest of the design team gets the chance to make a page 'inspired by' that sketch but we don't get to see the original page. It's a fun way to compare our takes on the sketch, then our followers get the chance to play along too.

here is the 'Inspired By' sketch and it is based on a page by our DT member Brandi Matos.

And here is my take on the sketch.

These My Minds Eye papers worked well with the photo of my niece with one of our budgies about to land on her head!

I have been sorting out my stash of embellishments to fill some new storage boxes and came across these sweet enamel flowers that added a shot of brighter colour to contrast with the pastels of the papers.

Still enjoying the versatility of the Silhouette and I doubt I have even skimmed the surface of what it can do, but these speech bubbles make me happy!

Hello crafty friends, what a love filled month this is! With Valentines Day just around the corner Challenge Yourself has a wonderful challenge for you this month -All you need is Love and a colour combo!
Using the colours below scrap about you and someone you LOVE.
The point of our blog is to encourage YOU to scrap yourself more so remember to make sure little ole you is in the photo!!

What a beauty! 

Here is my take on the challenge and as you can see I have scrapped about one of the wonderful men in my life - my lovely Dad. We are pictured here at my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and although I was taking photo's for my parents I did manage to be the other side of the lens a couple of times!

A little bit of paint splattering and some sequins added to an otherwise simple page that I love.

 I found some felt stars in among my Christmas decorations last year and decided they would be better as scrapbook embellishments! 

I really hope you can participate in the Challenge Yourself colour challenge this month, it's such a pretty combination that I'm sure you can't wait to dig out those photo's of YOU and a loved one to play along.

You Colour My World.

Good afternoon, evening or morning depending on what part of the world you are in! I have another post to share with you today this time for Color Me Scrappy blog.

This is the first colour challenge for February and what lovely summery colours to play with!

The twist is to use this sketch with the colour combination.

Here is my page for the challenge and as you can see I substituted the paper strips for rows of punched butterflies in the colours of the challenge.

Each of the butterflies has been stitched to the page by hand to add a bit of interest to them.

As I only had one photo I replaced the top photo in the sketch with a frame, tags and more butterflies!

Shrunk!

Hello February! This month snuck up on me, but I think I was secretly trying to avoid it as it's going to be a particularly trying and busy month.
But on a fun note it is of course the new reveal over at Sketch N Scrap today and let me tell you we have some cracking challenges for you in the coming weeks to keep your mojo happy!

This is the first sketch challenge and it was designed by our super sweet and talented Lisa Hidy.

Here is my take on Lisa's sketch and it was such a simple sketch to follow and although the corner strips are cute I decided to add extra large photo corners instead!

The photo's were taken in the 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' adventure playground in Disney's Hollywood Studios so I cut the word shrunk from a quirky font with my Silhouette, then doodled around each letter.

The kraft embellishments are so old and I don't scrap with kraft very often so they have been gathering dust in my stash but I liked the look of them on this page, and this bee was too cute not to use!
