Farewell Lunch.

Sketch N Scraps Birthday Celebrations are in full swing but we return to our regular program today for our 'Inspired By' Sketch Challenge. This time the sketch Lisa designed was based on a page by DT member Evie. None of the DT has seen the original layout Evie created so it's a little surprise for us when the reveal day comes along!

Here is the wonderful sketch the DT were given to play with.

Here is my layout and as you can see I mirror imaged the design and used larger photo's.

The papers I used (American Crafts) had a sheet that was all triangles so I cut some out to make a banner.

I had just the perfect PL card to place my title on as it had 'Food and Fun' printed on it, which was exactly what we had on our last lunch of our holiday last year.

The flower cluster was fussy cut from one of the sheets of paper too.

This View.

It's a wonderful time of the year when Spring is in full flow here in the UK with Summer just around the corner! I am scrapping my holiday 2013 photo's at the moment and I am so enjoying looking back on the amazing time we had in Ibiza.
This month Challenge Yourself  has a sketch challenge for you BUT DON'T FORGET YOU MUST BE IN THE PHOTO/S. As well as yourself in the photo we would like to see a special female - it could be your daughter, mother, sister or even a pet!

Here is the yummy sketch.

For my page I have used a large photo in place of the two smaller ones and used a selection of delicious American Crafts papers.

The story goes that we were driving along a tiny cliff road when I spotted this view and had to stop the car to take a photo. Hubby took one with me and my girls too and it was my favorite photo of the holiday.

In place of the circles in the sketch I used this cute journal card to which I added a number 3 and also fussy cut this camera.

I loved this sheet of paper with the orange splats and the pencil scribble already printed, have you tried to scribble like that on your pages yet? It's quite trendy but whenever I have tried it never looks natural if you know what I mean!

Balancing Act.

So many wonderful challenges so little time - sigh! But of course I did have to try and get Scrap365 April sketch Challenge done as it was out of my comfort zone and I am trying to stretch my creativity more by attempting the challenges that actually challenge ME!

So without further waffle from me, here is the sketch for April at Scrap365.

Ta Da! What do you think? I had so much trouble! It took me 'like forever' to be happy with this page. I added embellies then took them away again! Then I thought if I cut out my title it might help it come together - but no!

Wasn't until I was looking at some inspiration in Pinterest that I thought vellum added to the sunburst would help. As I had already stuck down the main pieces I ended up tucking the vellum under the very edge of the patterned paper! Still, got there in the end and before the deadline too!!!

Lovely craft foam lettering (with glitter of course!). I wanted the title to be in this bright green as the glow stick around my daughters neck was the same shade of  'in your face'!

Did you notice I even added some machine stitching? I thought that was the easiest and most attractive way of  keeping the vellum in place.

After cutting out my title I had the inevitable leftover foam scraps so I punched tiny circles out and adhered them like confetti around the page (waste not!).

The camera was fussy cut from the patterned papers that I used (all Amy Tangerine 'Sketchbook').

Happy Birthday Sketch N Scrap.

Welcome to the start of Sketch N Scraps Birthday Bash!

Our wonderful challenge blog is celebrating it's 2nd Birthday and we would love to have you along for the ride!

As you can see there will be plenty of fun, inspiration and prizes as well as our normal challenges during the month of May. EVERY DAY there will be something exciting happening either on the Sketch N Scrap blog or one of the design team members blogs.

I am kicking off the DT challenges today with a scrapbooking Tic, Tac toe. 

(just a note - Bunting is also know as Banners)

Now I'm sure you all know how to play - choose three squares to use on your scrapbook page. They must be a row, column or diagonally across (for instance doily, birthday photo, washi.).

Here is the page I created for this challenge and I used twine, Birthday photo and bunting.

 These lovely My Minds Eye papers matched well with the colours in my photo.

This home made alpha bunting was adhered to some twine and then I added foam dots to raise in from the page a bit.

You can just make out some subtle gold misting on the background just to tone down the white a bit.

Now if you would like to play along with my Tic Tac Toe challenge there is a prize up for grabs for a randomly picked participant. It is a surprise package but it contains some yummy scrappy goodness.

Summer Holiday.

OMG! It's May already!

But on a fun note it is of course Sketch N Scraps Birthday!

So much happening on the SNS blog, we will be posting everyday so you might want to check in regularly to see whats going on!

Today we are revealing our regular 1st of the month sketch and as usual it's a great design courtesy of Lisa Hidy.

This is sketch #56.

Here is my take on the sketch and just a couple of changes to the design, I added stitching instead of patterned paper and added chevrons at the bottom to add some interest.

These chevrons were cut with my Silhouette in white and re-coloured to co-ordinate with the page.

Instead of hearts I added a sweep of sequins.

As the photo's are of my girls on the plane to Ibiza I couldn't resist the 'we're all going on a summer holiday' title!

Hello a quick post today as I am about to head off for the school run but needed to get this page posted as the deadline for the challenge is tomorrow and I didn't realize it was May in the morning!!! I think I'm living in a bubble and the world just plods along without me!
Anyways onto the challenge and this time it's for Scrap The Girls April challenge which is to scrap your girls but with boy colours and papers etc.

Here is my page of two of my daughters with a friend on holiday last year enjoying the dingy that was brought along.

The photo's colours were a deciding factor as to which papers to use and the subject made the embellishment choice easier!

Hey Girl.

I'm back after a rather long scrappy absence, my mojo decided to return and I have been quite productive over the last few days getting DT work done. Not only work, I managed some play time too and created a page for the April sketch challenge over at Scrapology.

Here is the sketch which was based on a fabulous page by Steph Devlin, which you can see on the Scrapology Blog Here.

Here is my page based on the sketch and I really enjoyed fussy cutting all the October Afternoon flowers out.

The photo is of my middle daughter all dressed up for a night on the town (with parents of course!).

I know there is no bunting on the sketch but when I was making up the page kit I couldn't resist adding the sheet with these ones on to cut out and add to my design!

This circle was originally a 3x4 PL card that I cut up and mounted on top of a doily. The remaining piece of of the card had a blue backing so  I made it into the banner under the photo (waste not!).

I found this saying today and thought it appropriate for a page that has no real story to tell.

Lots of lovely Mother of Pearl sequins to add a bit of subtle interest and I was done!
