Red, White and Blue.

I have my first layout as DT member at Scrap Our Stash challenge blog today and I am excited to be part of this team as their challenges really are making me look at the older contents of my stash to use up! (which is all good!).
There is a reveal everyday of the new (and returning) design team members so make sure you visit often to say hi to all the lovely ladies and of course join us in our challenges.

Here is the first challenge for this month (there will be a sketch challenge on 15th).

RED, WHITE & BLUE

Create a LAYOUT (any theme) using your stash of RED WHITE and BLUE
papers and embellies.
Kraft is the ONLY other color you can use with these colors.
and....
you MUST include (3) or more Pre-made STAR embellishments of your choice!
(Brads, buttons, eyelets, cardstock stickers, chipboard, etc)

Here is my layout for this challenge and I couldn't resist using some photo's from last years Diamond Jubilee as they sprang to mind as soon as I received the challenge details.
I decided to re-create the Union Jack flag as my background using cardstock, I was pleased with the outcome although the photo's hide a multitude of mistakes (shhhh!).

Finding stars to add to my layout was a bit tricky as I only had some yellow star buttons or tiny gold star sequins! So armed with my Promarkers I re-coloured all the gold stars to blue and red and adhered them around my title.

Then it was time to add the traditional English bunting - in glitter card of course! Then I die cut some bigger stars and printed out some sayings to complete my page.

I hope you can join us with this challenge and you could win a fabulous prize so go to the Scrap Our Stash blog to see all the details.

Back soon.

  1. Love how you created the Union Jack. I actually have some Union Jack pattern paper and have been trying to think how to use it (I've already scrapped my Diamond Jubilee photo's) but Andy Murray winning Wimbledon might just be the ticket!
