The layout was made for the About A Girl 1st July challenge which was simply to use the word NEW on your page. I love it when they take it easy on me!!
I came across the glitter patterned paper whilst having a clear out of my paper mountain (just a large hill of paper left!!) and thought it looked like fireworks and would be great for scrapping the photo's from the New Year display we went to locally.
This is the first page of a double page layout but as it is for the challenge over at About a Girl I thought I would have the title on this page with the word 'NEW' as it only has girls in the photo's.
Here is the two pages together but you will have to click on it to see it more clearly. I kept the design very simple because of the busy paper and the multiple photo's, just adding the journaling and some glitter bursts at the bottom and around the title.
The firework display was one of the best I have been to at New Year. The fireworks were set off from boats in a harbour so they were reflected in the water giving twice the effect!
I recently treated myself to a new stitching template from American Crafts from HERE and used the city scape template to make a scene for the join where the two different papers met. First I stitched the buildings and then carefully cut around them. (make sure you have glue handy for those minor mishaps with the scissors when you cut through the threads crossing at the back!).
Now as I type, About A Girl Challenge blog has just posted a new sketch challenge but you can still enter this one until the end of the month too. All the details can be found HERE.
Thank you for taking the time to visit little 'ole me and hope you will come back soon.
