Saturday sketches.

I've had another go at the Satuday Sketches challenge over at the Papermaze blog this week below is the sketch that was posted.

and here is my take on it.
As you can see I turned the sketch around as I had some gorgeous Kraft papers I wanted to use with a portrait photo of my girls messing around whilst I was trying to get a photo of them all posing (upright) amongst the trunks of the tree. It wasn't going to happen so I made the page about it.

Check out the Papermaze blog this Saturday to see what their next sketch will be!

A True Friend - Seasons.

This week at a True Friend blog we are celebrating seasons with our pets and scrapping their favourite. As you've probably guessed from my previous pages of our cat Molly she not an active moggy to say the least so I have scrapped about her sun lounging! The quote on the page says - "Deep Summer is when Laziness finds Respectability" I thought it suited her to a T!

Has your pet got a favourite season? Why not share it with us by leaving a comment on the True Friends blog with a link to your page, we would love to see it.

We have been using some great sketches from PageMaps both for the scrapbooking and the card making.Along with the sketches we have been using the colour turquoise.

Here is the sketch for the layout's.

This is Joan's page.

Here is Pam's.

Last but not least Jackie's.

Our next challenge has the sketches of course and with those we have to use "something that flies" ( but not pigs) either on papers or the photo's or the embellie's. So check us out in 2 weeks to see what we came up with.

Sarah's Card's challenge.

The challenge on Sarah's Cards blog this month is to add paint to your page or card, so I thought I would have a go.
The layout is all about my youngest DD who until recently was frustrated at not being able to blow bubbles with her bubble gum. Her sisters would try to explain and show her how but she would just go red in the face or the bubble gum would shoot out of her mouth with the effort of blowing.
But then, much to her delight she got the knack of it and was delighted to let me take photo's to prove it!
The paint I used on my page was firstly to colour the large red brads that were originally brass ones that I bought from a stationers.

The background paper was printed with painted bubble wrap to keep in with the theme of the photo's.

And lastly I used some Dylon dimensional paint to add detail to the lettering.

Why not have a go at the challenge too, there is a prize up for grabs of a £10 e-voucher. Click HERE for more details.

A friendly challenge.

Firstly I wanted to share this photo of my friend Helen's puppy Odie who I saw yesterday and really wanted to bring him home with me but Helen said she wanted to keep him ( can't understand why!) He is such a big softy and is so gorgeous you can't help but want to smuggle him out in your coat.

The real reason I went to visit my very good friend Helen was to catch up on what we have both been up to and to see each others scrapbooking pages from our beach challenge that we set last time we met. So I have taken photo's of them to show you.

This one is Helen's as you can probably tell from the little tiny Odie running around on the photo's on his first visit to a beach.

This one is mine and it shows my youngest daughter made up into a mermaid by her dad and plenty of sand!

Hope you liked our pages and watch out for our next challenge that we have set each other which is a mini kit with 8 x 8 papers that we have to do a double page with!

Follower or leader?

This week over at A True Friend Blog we are scrapping about whether our pets are followers or leaders.
My page is about Buster one of my dogs that is no longer with us.( one of the puppies from here all grown up). He was such a big baby and would follow me everywhere round the house and garden, even when he was asleep he must have been half listening for my foot steps because he would leap up and run after me. As you can see from the photo when I sat down there he would be - by my side.

Have you got a page to share with us about your pet, perhaps yours is a leader and it's you trying to keep up with them! Come over to A True Friends blog and leave a link to your page in the comments or come and check out the other designers pages.

Memorable event!

This weeks challenge over at A True Friend was to scrap a memorable event in your pets life and I've done my old dog Tara when she had four beautiful puppies they are pictured here only a few days old.
It was so long ago (1988) that neither her or her puppies are still with us but I will never forget those adorable little bundles of fun!

Join us in celebrating your pets life experiences by scrapping the event and leaving a message with a link to your page in the comments.

Saturday Sketches.

The following page has been done for the Saturday Sketch challenge over at the Scrap Paper Scissors Blog and I really enjoyed doing this sketch ( which is from Page Maps) even though the page is about one of my cats who past away a few days ago. I kept it simple and girly as I wanted to focus on the photo's of Tammy growing up.

Pop over to Papermaze's blog and have a go yourself or just see the great talent of the designers. HERE IS THE LINK.

Stone me!

I have been trying to use up some of my oldest papers lately because I want the excuse of getting some new ones ( there are some gorgeous new lines in the shops now ).
So here is a layout using some Piggy Tales papers from way back, and an old sketch from Page Maps that I had already printed out.

Have you checked out Scrap Paper Scissors blog today as they are starting Saturday Sketches, they are posting a sketch and the pages that the designers have created. The sketch they have used is a Page Maps one too and because it's one using lots of photos ( a challenge for me) I may try and have a go. Why not go see for yourselves HERE.
