Last night whilst my family were watching the new Doctor Who series (never been my bag) I thought I would have a go at the challenge for September over at the 123 Challenge Blog.
This month the challenge is MAN, GREY and METAL, not too tricky I thought, so off I went to gather my supplies........
Armed with grey ink, digital papers, glitter card and for the metal..... washers from my hubbies garage (shhh, don't tell on me) this is the page I created for the challenge.
Aren't these washers lovely, I couldn't believe it when I saw them (still in the packet) and thought he wouldn't miss a few of them!
The two flower embellishments here were copied from some chip board pieces that I have but were the wrong colour.
I think this months challenge is open for another day if you like the recipe and I can't wait to see what next month's challenge will be.
Off now to do the ironing (blah), so I will be back with more craftyness as soon as I can.

Scrap the Girls Challenge.
The challenge over at Scrap the Girls this month was to scrap an action photo and when I read this I knew I had the perfect photo. It is of my middle daughter leaping off of a pedalo slide (yes there are pedalo's with slides these days!) the photo catches her mid leap and my youngest daughter had commandeered the camera so I can't even boast that I took the photo!
It's a leap and a half don't you think?
The papers I used are from October Afternoon and Bella Boulevard and the sun and clouds are from some free digital images.
Here are some close-ups, do you like the cute little bird from Erin Bradley?
I am cutting it fine with this challenge as it closes tomorrow but I couldn't resist squeezing it in and stayed up late last night to get it finished.
Well it's been a busy couple of days on my blog so far and hopefully I will be back soon with some more crafty projects. Till then, thanks for popping in again and have a good evening.
A Card To Share.
Hi my crafty friends, as promised I have a card to show you quickly whilst I wait for a delivery.
I have some new stamps from Papertrey Ink and I made this card by stamping the flower images onto cardstock and then cutting them out. Next I mounted them onto the card base using sticky foam pads for a little dimension.
The sentiment stamp is from Woodware and is now one of my favourite stamps as it's so unfussy and a lovely size.

I have a page to show you too but I am not sure whether my delivery will turn up whilst I am loading the photo's into blogger so please pop back later today.

Forgotten!
I found some photo's on my camera today of some layouts and a card that I completed this month and forgotten all about. Thought I could show you to see what you think, but the card photo was a bit blurry so I might photograph that again tomorrow (might get a bright moment in between the rain showers) and post it here over the weekend.
Here is my first page and shows my eldest daughter being silly with a friend on holiday this year.
I bought some vellum last month and keep meaning to use it and just keep forgetting as it's not something that I am used to using, so remembering it at the last moment I punched some butterflies out and inked the middle.
Here is the second layout, I started it at my friend Helen's when I spent the day and didn't quite get it finished. It documents (hidden journalling) the love my youngest daughter has for icecream. She must eat it virtually every day in some form or other.
A couple of close ups.
I am off now to finish off the page I have started for next weeks Bradfield Craft Club challenge which is a sketch from this month's PageMaps. So I will be back soon with a card to show you, so until then have a great weekend whatever it is you have planned.

Hold That Pose!
It's been so long since I've managed to grab time to play along with Sarah's Cards monthly challenges, so when I found time this month I found the sketch over on Sarah's blog. I was in two minds whether or not to have a go though as the sketch didn't leap out and grab me as they usually do, but not one to be put off I went in search of the photo and papers I could use.
The patterned paper I used had alot of glitter so I made some arrows from different coloured glitter card to go under the photo.
Here is the sketch from Sarah's Cards blog that I used and my journalling is where the sketch states but it is written on the wavy line in white pen so it's not easy to see it.
The challenge is running until 30th September so you have a few days left to join in and there is a £20 voucher to spend in their shop up for grabs!
Hope you enjoyed your little visit to my humble blog and hope you pop back soon.
I was delighted to find a piece of paper that went so well with the photo, not only did the colours match with two of the bikinis that the girls are wearing but it had a beachy/tropical theme to it aswell! I cut the waves so that I could tuck the photo underneath and also cut out the wave with the starfish on and raised in up with some foam pads. You can see it better on the next photo.
I layered the title up on some more glitter card and added netting and stars.
This tag is tied to the raised wave.

Then and Now.
Don't you just love it when the opportunity arises to have two photo's taken in the same or similar circumstances or places years apart?
During our holiday this summer we were eating in a restaurant and my eldest daughter saw a ride on car, the sort you put money in and in moves and makes noises. (meant for small children).
She announced that her and her friend needed to have their photo taken with them in the car because we had a photo of the two of them in a little red car years ago on another holiday together.
They were full of smiles and giggles trying to get themselves squeezed into this tiny ride on car, they didn't quite manage to get in it as they had grown quite a bit since the last time!!
Here is the page I made using a lovely sketch from Sketch N Scrap September challenge and the papers are all from the Cosmo Cricket Togetherness range, a really pretty line of papers.
This is the sketch I used and there is still time to have a go at Sketch N Scraps great sketches for this month. Check out their blog HERE.
Off to work tonight so no crafting for me but I hope you get time to play with your crafty stash and have a great evening.

It's Childs Play.
I had some photo's printed recently in strips as I had alot of images of two of my girls playing frisby over the park. I'm not a fan of double pages so reducing the size of the photo's to get more onto a single page seemed the way to go.
The papers I used were from several manufacturers and the trees and bunting were from Erin Bradley.
Some close ups.
Hope you are having a great Tuesday and I will be back in the next couple of days with a layout I have nearly finished for a challenge over at Sketch N Scrap.

B is for Boat!
I had a photo from our recent trip to Ibiza that shouted out to be used for this months challenge at the White With 1 blog which is WHITE, ORANGE and BLACK.
I am really enjoying the paint splatting technique lately so I have dipped into the paint pots again for this layout. I have also added some hand drawn embellishments that are so much fun to do.
As the photo is of our friends little boy admiring the boats I decided that my page would take on a child like feel with the drawn clouds, sun and boat. (Especially as I can't draw for toffee!) Then I thought I could paint the boat to look like a five year old coloured it in by not keeping within the lines (wasn't difficult)!
I decided the title needed to reflect the theme too so I went for B is for Boat.
Here is a close up of my boat.
So glad you stopped by and I have more layouts to show you in the next few days as I held an all day crop last Saturday and managed to get quite a bit done considering how slow I scrapbook.
So see you soon.

Use it or lose it.
Now if you are regular visitor to my blog you will no doubt know that my dear friend Helen and I have a challenge every few weeks with each other. This time around it was to use an item that we have bought, had for a long time and never even opened the packet!
I know we all have those items in our stash that we have liked at the time of purchase, it was a bargain and would come in useful for a page at some time or just haven't found the right time to use it.
I keep meaning to have a sort through my drawers of crafty goodness and use it or lose it because I have a limited space to store my stash and it's overflowing! So what better challenge for me than to get an item out of the drawers and do something creative with it.

This is the item of stash I have had for years, a sheet of rub ons that I thought I could use with one of the many Disney photo's I took the first time we went to Florida. All pink and girly just not my style anymore (not sure it ever was).
Here is the page I made using the rub on's, some of them went straight onto the page and others like the castle were put onto cardstock and cut out then I used sticky foam to adhere them to the page to add some dimension.
Here is Helen's item of old stash and was also bought with her Disney trips in mind.
Helen was really pleased that not only did she find the photo's she wanted to use from her vast selection but the she found some papers that matched perfectly with the colours of the dimensional stickers.
I was impressed with Helen's title, as her daughters birthday celebrations were at Disneyland Paris she put Happy Birthday in French!

Home Made Mask.
I have never really embraced masking as it seemed quite a messy thing to do on my scrapbook pages, I see myself as a neat and tidy kind of scrapper.
But I have seen so many beautiful pages on other blogs lately that I decided to take the plunge in to the great unknown. You may have noticed a few splats of ink here and there on my pages of late and I think that was me tentatively dipping my toes in.
Anyway, in order to delve in I needed a mask and I had the bright idea to make use of some old acetate sheets that were collecting dust and make my own.
Here is my first attempt at mask making, it took ages as it was cut by hand after drawing the hexagons on first.
I did not spray the ink directly onto my page base but onto some white card and then roughly went round the outside with a black pen. Then proceeded to cut them out and ink the edges.
Then I used the mask as a stencil on my page base paper in three different places around the page.
As you can see by my finished page the stencilled hexagons are a base for the other cut out ones.
This page was so much fun and I have cut out some other masks (using my big shot this time -soooooo much quicker) so I will play some more another day.
Now this is the sketch that I wanted to use the hexagon mask for as it seemed perfect for my little trial run.
It is the Scrap365 September Sketch Challenge and does not close until the 20th September so why not have a go too!

Back to crafting.
Summer is over and it's back to school today for two of my girls. Routine school days are nearly back, although it will take some getting used to again. (I've never been a morning kind of gal!)
But with the end of the summer holidays comes the restart of Bradfield Craft Club and that's something I have been looking forward to. Last night was our first meeting of the Autumn and there was blackberry and apple cake to help us celebrate.
Of course I set a sketch challenge just for fun before we broke up and I thought I would share them with you.
Have fun and pop back soon.

Here is my double page.
(please click on the images for a better view)
This one is Joan's.
This one is Sue's.
Here is the sketch we used that came from Easy Scrapbook Sketches.
Jackie made a card reminding us that Christmas is just around the corner (eek).
This is the sketch from Pagemaps that she used.
We have an all-day crop organised for the 15th of this month and that's something I am really looking forward to as it's uninterrupted crafting and cake eating from 9 til 5!
I have a page to share with you in the next day or two but here is a sneek peek.....
Have fun and pop back soon.
