Scrap The Girls.

Scrap the girls blog had a sketch challenge earlier this month and I have only just gotten around to finishing the page with just 16 hours to go before the deadline (phew).
Now this is the challenge site for me as I have three girls and 99% of my photo's have one or more of them in, so finding photo's for their challenges is not difficult!
I am still plowing through the holiday photo's from last year and the photo I've used was waiting for the right inspiration and it came in the form of this sketch...

Here is my take on it, I have moved the photo and the vertical strips to one side as I liked the look better and the papers I used were mostly from SEI. My usual glitter title and even some hand stitching went into creating some texture.

I have fallen in love with sequins and thought I would add some subtle lines of them in a couple of places.

I managed to make a heart from a paper clip today, I have been trying to work out how to do it for a while without success and so cheated and looked it up on Pinterest! So you will probably be seeing them around in future.

Ok, now I know that it's probably too late to start a page to enter the challenge at Scrap The Girls, but if you are a quick scrapper it could be done!! Find all the details HERE.

Smile.

Hello and I hope you are having a fabulous weekend so far, my weekend started with a shopping spree with my lovely scrappy friends and hopefully will end with some time to use the new goodies I purchased.

Today I have the last two layouts to show you that were done at my scrappy retreat last month and I have kept these until last as they are my favourite ones.

A very simple and quick layout of my middle daughter enjoying the pool on holiday last year.

I think with this page I decided I loved the look of sequins on my projects (with some ink in the mix of course). The leaves are some die cut vellum that I inked the edges of.

A glitter title and a strip of wahi tape and I was happy.

I loved the bold red of the buoy in this photo so I sanded a piece of corrugated red card and used it to mount the photo on.

Some red paint splats, butterflies and hexagons are basically all I put as embellies.

Last little close-up and I'm done with my little show and tell for today.

Thanks for popping by again and I would be so happy if you found some time to leave some love in the comments and let me know what you thought of my pages.

Seeing Double!

Now those of you that know me well are aware of how little I post double pages, so today I thought I would surprise you with one.
I have had the papers for this page for years but up until recently I have never found the inspiration to use them.

My youngest daughter has had a fascination with panda's since she was about three when her nanny gave her the first one. Since then she has been given various soft toys, clothes and books but even now at age eleven the love of pandas has not diminished.
The papers I used are Bella Blvd 'Sunny Happy Skies' which are probably not available anywhere anymore.

I added a few foam stickers that I got from Paperchase, (for those of you in the UK) I love that shop.

This is a layout for my DD's album which really needs to be sorted into some semblance of order and a list made of pages I want to get done for it. If anyone knows of a time machine (just lying around somewhere gathering dust) I could borrow for a few months I would be so grateful.

In the meantime hope you have plenty of opportunity to spend time doing the things you enjoy this week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sarah's Cards Challenge.

Hi all and welcome to my little piece of blogland and today I have finished my page for the February sketch challenge over at Sarah's Cards blog and amazingly with days to spare!!!!
I always love to enter their challenges but usually it's by the skin of my teeth, unfortunately I have hurt my back and have been put on light duties, I have managed to avoid too much housework in favour of scrapbooking (big shame).

THE SKETCH!

If you click on the image you will be able to read the quote easier.
The background paper is from My Minds Eye Follow Your Heart line (from Sarah's recent sale) and some other scraps I had near to hand from another project.
Then of course there is some misting, I might be slightly obsessed with my little bottles of ink!

I got myself some glasine bags as I have seen quite a few layouts on my travels around blogland lately that have used them and so never one to pass up the chance of a new embellishment I thought I would give them a go too. Here I have inserted a tag and put a strip of washi tape along the bottom to show up the 'I Heart Your Smile' strip, then placed one of the photo's over the top.

My little wooden heart needed dressing up so armed with another of my new found embellies I adhered a few different coloured sequins to the centre.

Well now that I have managed to enter Sarah's Cards challenge it's your turn to give it a go and the prize is a £20 e-voucher - what are you waiting for?? Get over THERE for all the details.

A Pair of Pages.

Happy Sunday to you all and just a quick post today to show you a couple of layouts that I created recently. I made them both using the same paper line but as you can see they are quite different.
Please excuse the quality of the pictures as it is winter in England (do I need to say more?).

The page came together quite quickly, once I cut out all the diamonds!

Added my title using some Pebbles corrugated letters I got in Sarah's Cards sale recently.

A close up of the flower that was cut from the papers and I added a cute button for the centre.

Here is my second layout using the same papers as the first and this one was originally made for a challenge blog but I missed the deadline. Using my favourite homemade mask and some green Shimmer Mist I wanted to make it look like the sun was shining behind the photo.

Another quick and easy layout with a bit of layering and some little buttons that a friend gave to me whilst I was doing the page.

A last close-up of the title area.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sketch N Scrap #27 and a Winner!

Good morning scrappers, we will start the day with the page I made using the new sketch #27 at Sketch N Scrap blog. I hope you all enjoyed our little valentine blog hop and  the winner of my little RAK is at the end of this post.

                                                              First the sketch by Brenshevia.

This is a page using some really old photo's of my girls having a great time in the bath, I think there were more bubbles than water. Now my girls won't even let me in the bathroom whilst they are bathing let alone take a photo!!!!

I eventually got around to using this fab sticky back foam that a dear friend gave me (thanks Helen) which I cut into circles to make them look like bubbles.

I also cut my title out of it and backed it with some dark paper to create a shadow effect.

Now it's your turn to have a go at the sketch challenge and don't forget there is a prize up for grabs this month so pop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog for all the details.

A now for the winner of my RAK from the blog hop.........

My eldest daughter picked out the winner from all the entries and here she is with the winning strip. Well done Buffy Esser, if you could email me at kerry.bruce@btinternet.com with your snail mail address I will send you the goodies.

A HUGE THANKS to everyone who commented on my blog post during the hop and I look forward to visiting your blogs soon to return the love.

Sandy Toes.

Hello everyone, I will be back later with the draw from my Sketch N Scrap blog hop giveaway so stop by on Friday to see if you're the winner.
In the meantime here is a layout I have submitted to the Inspired Blueprints challenge number 82.

Here is the sketch.

My take on the sketch, I had a 5x7 photo so used that as the top two blocks on the sketch and went from there. The sunburst at the bottom is actually a piece of patterned paper and the colours are lovely and summery. I think it was some SEI paper but not sure as I didn't keep the bottom strip with the details on.

Loving the rosette die from Tim Holtz at the moment and need to get the smaller ones now!!

Trying to use up some old stash and this little cute flower was crying out for a button.

Ok, off to bedfordshire. See you tomorrow for the winner announcement.

Little Fishes.

Happy Valentines Day everyone, just a quick reminder that if you haven't joined in with the Sketch N Scrap Valentine blog hop yet, today is the last day to enter the competition that is running. All the details are HERE.

Today I have a page to show you that I finished for the sketch challenge over at My Scraps and More Sketches.

This is the sketch and if you turn it once clockwise that is how I used it on my page layout.

I used a bit of artistic licence, the fishes for the 3 small squares  and the seaweed is the rectangle of paper! The papers I used were Pebbles Country Picnic line and Pink Paislee's Lobster Bisque (the fish were cut from this).

The little fishes.

My cute little starfish made out of felt and beads.

Plenty of time left to enter the challenge as it runs until the end of the month. Check out the blog HERE.

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #81.

Inspired Blueprints is back and the sketches are just as fabulous as before they took a well earned break. So armed with their 1st sketch of the year I worked on a page at the recent crop here in chilly Essex.
Don't you just love this sketch?

Here is my page that I had so much fun creating, please note... DOILIES!!!!
Lots of lovely misting (thanks again Sarah). This is a page about my niece and her love of ice skating although there is no journaling yet (tut, tut) as I have got to look up the details.

My title was made with glitter card (of course, I hear you say?) and some rub-ons.

Lastly a close up of the top corner cluster (just because I can).

Now why not jump over to Inspired Blueprints and check out their blog too, lots of inspiration in their gallery and don't be put off by having to join, it really is worth it.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend and I'll be back soon with more pages from the crop. xxx

Sketch N Scrap Blog Hop.

Welcome to the Sketch N Scrap Valentine Blog Hop.

It's a very exciting time for us gals at Sketch N Scrap as it's our very first blog hop!
We have a bonus sketch for you this month and all of the DT members have posted our layout using the sketch on our blogs.
Also we have a special phrase for you to decipher along the way. Each of our blog hop ladies has a word(s) BOLDED for you to complete the phrase from the beginning to the end of the hop. Once you have completed the phrase, EMAIL it to sketchnscrap@gmail.com for another chance at the grand prize!
If you have found your way here out of order you will need to start HERE. (you should have found your way to my blog via Mandi's blog).

If that's not enough I have a RAK for a randomly picked winner. To be in for a chance of winning the prize you must become a follower of my blog and leave a comment to say you are now following me or if you are already following me leave a comment to let me know you would like to be entered into the draw.

So let's get started.....

Here is the bonus sketch designed by Lisa Hidy.

Here is my take on Lisa's sketch and as you can see I turned it anti-clockwise to accommodate my photo's.
The photo's show my eldest daughter posing for me in a beautiful park in Ipswich, I am in HEAVEN when she is in the mood to let me photograph her as she gives me her sweetest, silliest and uninhibited poses.

These hearts were made from washi tape covered card cut with classic hearts Nestabilities. I snipped through the red one with scissors so that I could intertwine the two together and just hid the cut behind the black one.

The long strip in the sketch I turned into a large banner to accommodate my title.

This is the RAK I am offering to one randomly selected commenter (don't forget to follow me), a selection of BasicGrey rub-ons and a roller tool.

The Sketch N Scrap Blog Hop runs from 7th February until the 14th February.

Ok, now you need to hop on over to..   Heather's Blog

Have FUN!!

Stuck Sketch Challenge.

Helloooo,  I hope you are having a wonderful week so far, I am still recovering and catching up from my weekend retreat/crop that I organised. I had a wonderful time and got lots of scrapping done too!
One of the pages I wanted to do was based on the Stuck February 1st sketch.....

This is the sketch and I made sure I took along three photo's to the crop for it.

As you can see I have turned the sketch to accommodate my photo's. The journaling is missing as I have got to rummage in my computer backup for the date as the photo's were taken several years ago.

I'm not an overly flowery scrapper but I couldn't get away with not putting some flowers on this page!

A last close up of the title area where I used my Nestabilities to make the frame, flower and to make the 'O' into a heart.

There is still plenty of time to enter the Stuck challenge, find all the details HERE.
