Photo Bomb.

The latest challenge over at The Studio Challenges is Scrap lifts - The design team have each picked a layout that another design team member had created for a previous challenge and scrap lifted it. Now we would like you to scraplift our scraplifts!!

Here is the layout I created.
I scraplifted a layout by DT member Vasso, I loved the vertical page divide with bold papers and girly accents.
I added another photo to my take and then embellished with pretty flowers and other girly stuff.

If it's a girly layout you are after you can't go wrong with flowers, butterflies and sequins!

A little layered cluster.

Here is Vasso's layout that I used to scraplift.

Head on over to the Studio Challenges blog to see what other DT layouts there are to scraplift and come join in the fun.

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you have a wonderful week.

Friendly Challenge - Sketch.

Here there my lovely crafty friends, it's been a busy week scrapbooking wise for me (yeah!) and so today I am going to share the layouts from a friendly challenge.
As you know my dearest friend Helen and I have been challenging each other each month for a few years now and this month was my turn to set a sketch challenge.

I set us this sketch from Pagemaps June 2014.

Here is my take on the sketch and I cheated slightly by only using one photo!
I pretty much kept to the sketch otherwise and I used the September kit from Likeforever which had the perfect papers and embellishments for cat photo's!

I layered up one of the cut-out tags with my title and a couple of pieces from the ephemera pack.

Another embelly cluster.

I absolutely adore the washi tape in the kit that has 'I Love You' printed on.

Now onto Helen's beautiful layout and as you can see she managed to use three photo's as per the sketch. The photo's are of her eldest daughter who is now 20! Check out those curls!
She has used the gorgeous papers from 'Dear Lizzy's Polka Dot Party. One of our favourite paper lines!

You know when you have a die shape and some one else uses it on their layout and you think wow why don't I ever use mine? That was me yesterday when I saw Helen's cute little bird cut from cork!

Helen's simple yet totally pertinent title sits on one of the fussy cut flowers.

Making use of her favourite heart border die, Helen created an embellishment cluster under the photo.

There we have it for another fun Friendly Challenge. Hope you have enjoyed seeing the two takes on the sketch and this month's challenge is to use this line in our title - 'I Remember When.......'.
So you will be seeing some old photo's of Helen and I in the not too distant future!

Thanks for dropping by and hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Brothers?

I have recently been given a new laptop by darling Hubby and now I can take my Silhouette to crops and PLAY! I purchased a cloud cut file ages ago when I first saw it on The Cut Shoppe and now I have cut it out and created a layout with it!

Here is the layout I created, layering the clouds on top of some strips of bright papers.

Because the page is quite fussy I toned down the embellishments to a few scatterings of buttons and some images cut from the papers I was using.

The title took several attempts to get the right font and colour. When I cut it out in white cardstock it blended into the clouds too much, so I coloured them black with my Sharpies  but that made them too 'in your face'! Frustration was now taking hold when I tried spritzing with orange mist that just looked a mess, after wiping most of the mist off I went onto splats of white with a doodled border drawn around each one. Happy with this outcome I quickly adhered them to the page before I changed my mind!

Here is the gorgeous clouds cut out on my page.

Here is what the cut file looks like.
You can buy it HERE.

I am entering this layout into The Cut Shoppe September challenge.

No Touchy!

Hellooo everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Likeforever kit club have a Sunday Challenge and Nicola asked if I would create a layout using the sketch below that she is setting for today's challenge.

I turned the sketch to accommodate my landscape photo.

Here is my take on the sketch featuring one of my cats Demi.
The 'Oh So Lovely' kit contains the gorgeous Crate Paper 'Wonder' line.
Such beautiful colours and designs, it's been a pleasure creating pages with it.

The Thicker letters are such fun and co-ordinate beautifully with the papers.
There is a sheet of flower images that is perfect for fussy cutting!

For the subtitle in the sketch I added a tag from the cut-apart sheet adding stitching and some twine. I also cut half of the 'So sweet' circle in the middle of the tag so it would show above the photo whilst the tag went under.
The cute puffy hearts are in the kit too.

The top corner embellishment cluster.

The story behind the photo and title - 'No Touchy' (a quote from the children's film 'Emperors New Groove').

I have really got back into stitching on my pages lately and so I bought some thread to match this paper line. In recreated the stitched detail in the sketch with a line of crosses.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my take on the Likeforever Sunday Sketch Challenge.
For more inspiration using this Crate Paper Wonder kit head on over to the Likeforever blog HERE and the Likeforever shop is HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy what is remaining of the weekend.

She's No Spring Chicken!

Hello my dear scrappy pals, hope your week is progressing nicely.
I have been lucky enough to find some spare time for scrapbooking this week and one of the layouts was created with the Sassy Scrappers September challenge.

I really liked the sketch so made sure I found time to play along.
I have turned the sketch clockwise to accommodate my landscape photo.

Here is my page and you will have to excuse the grey look to the white background as it's overcast and dull here in the UK at the moment which doesn't help the photo's!
The picture is of our oldest cat Molly who is at least 17 years old (she was a rescue cat) and all she does these days is eat and sleep on the settee in the kitchen.
I used the Crate Paper Wonder kit from Like Forever and cut 'Spring' from the free cut file that Sassy Scrappers gave away.

There are lots of ephemera in the kit, perfect for making little clusters.

Punched circles, ink splats, sequins and puffy triangles make up the diagonal sweep in the sketch.
I just realised  I have left the top of my letter I in chicken! Will have to go and remedy that....

I thought the 'Little You' tag was perfect for this page as Molly used to be a fat, roly poly kitty but now she is all skin and bones and looks so small!

This challenge at Sassy Scrappers runs until the end of the month so still plenty of time to play along.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest Like Forever Kit Club layout and I will be scrapping again at the weekend so will hopefully have more to share soon.

Thanks for dropping by.

Summer Soaking.

The first challenge for September over at The Studio Challenges is to use shaped photo's on your page.
I wouldn't normally cut my photo's into anything other than a rectangle or square but I am not one to turn down a challenge!

These photo's are from way back in 2007, our family holiday to Disneyland. The girls and their cousin were playing in the water feature in the 'It's a Bugs Life' playground, getting wet but cooling down!
After I had picked my photo's and the papers I wanted to use (Pebbles, Garden party) I flipped through my dies to see which shape I could get away with using.
A fairly large hexagon was the only shape that enabled me to keep all the girls in the photo's still.

I cut my clouds from an appropriate worded sheet of paper and I added some faux stitching to resemble the rain. The sun was cut with my Silhouette and misted.

I am really into ripped papers at the moment so added a couple of layers along with some banners.
To keep with the hexagon theme I cut some images from the papers and placed them near the photo's.

If you enjoy shaping your photo's or even if it would be a real challenge to do so like it was for me, why not join in with us at The Studio Challenges. There is plenty of inspiration over on the blog HERE.

Thanks for popping in.

Card Share.

I am literally hopping between making dinner, getting ready for work in a hour and posting here sharing a couple of quick cards with you. I say quick and although the cards took very little time to make I took far too long procrastinating about the design and therefore the whole procedure took longer than I'd hoped! But that's me, a dilly dallier!

The two cards are basically the same except the flowers are slightly different and one has a little flower next to the sentiment.

This beautiful flower paper was given to me by a friend from a stack so I'm afraid I can't tell you which manufacturer they are from but there is not much left!

Well I told you I'd be quick!
Hope you are having a great week and enjoying the back to school quiet!

Right Here, Right Now.

It's been a few days since I have caught time to blog, I have been scrapping a little in the evenings and at Monday nights craft club so I will have pages to share this week.
To start the ball rolling I have at last managed to catch a challenge, Sketch N Scrap have a sketch this month that fitted well with photo's of me and my girls last year.

The photo's were taken inside an ice cave at the top of  a Swiss mountain, so much fun! I pretty much kept to the sketch as it suited my photo's and the papers.

The title was cut on my Silhouette and then I tried to mimic the colours of the banner in the photo by colouring it with my Promarkers. It looked darker when the pen ink was wet but I was too impatient to wait before sticking it on my page!

I re-coloured some stars too and just added a little embellishment cluster at the bottom.

Here is Sketch N Scraps layout sketch for the 1st September and don't forget they have a card sketch too. For all the details head on over to the SNS blog HERE.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.
Thanks for dropping by.

Oh So Lovely.

As promised here are a couple of layouts made using the new Like Forever kit for September.
Featuring Crate Papers 'Wonder' line with it's beautiful floral papers and bold patterns.

A layout starring my little fur baby Demi.
We all loved this corrugated look paper and I wish now I had ordered more sheets!
The design was based on a sketch that owner of LFE Nicola gave us as a challenge.
Apart from the doily and the little label all the stash is from the kit.

Lots of hand stitching on this layout, starting off with the title circle.

The many stitched circles were a good idea - until I was still stitching them well into the evening!
I ran out of black thread near the end but luckily not until the final circle. I hid the gap with a fussy cut flower and a tag!

The cute felt heart and paperclip were a must for this layout.

My second layout with this kit featured the bright 'Discover' sheet which matched in with the colours of my photo. Different strips of paper slipped in the sides to give the illusion of layers without the bulk.

One of my daughters achieved her National Citizen Service award this summer so the title is just an abbreviation in the wonderful thickers that match the papers.

The self-adhesive sequins were so easy to attach!

The flair badge was not part of the kit but perfectly matched the colour and theme of the layout.

Thanks once again for stopping by and seeing my layouts.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

More Pink Fresh Kit Pages.

I am really enjoying having a beautiful kit turn up on my doorstep every month, it has inspired me to scrapbook more and that's no bad thing as I have plenty of photo's still to scrap!
I have a couple of layouts to share that I made using last month's kit from Like Forever, if you remember it featured Pink Fresh Studio Dream Big collection.

The background sheet for this layout was destined not to see the light of day as I never really know what to do with papers like this but I managed to persuade my youngest daughter to let me have a copy of her Instagram photo which seemed a perfect match.

I used one of the acetate triangles in the kit for a photo corner and added one of the wooden hearts.

I saw a layout where they tucked this wooden border under the photo and loved the way it looked.

I added a die cut feather and some sequins for some more texture.

I love the packed of glittery words in the kit.

For this page I added some other elements from my stash and only used half a ripped sheet of the paper.

The die for this globe is in a set by Shimelle (take a peak here)

I had added a PL card that matched the paper colours nicely and scattered triangles and splatted ink.

My title was cut on my Silhouette.

This month's kit has arrived and I was determined to 'kill' last month's before delving into the new one........ but I didn't have the willpower! Therefore I will have a couple of pages to share using the new kit soon.

How could I resist this? I love opening my parcel, we even get a lolly!

Off to work soon so no scrapping for me today, hope your week is going great!
Thanks for dropping by.
