A little Birdy or Two.

I have a card to show you today that I made using some new dies I ordered recently from W Plus 9 Design Studio in US.

Here is my card and HERE is the die set that I used for the birds and leaves, sooo cute.
Not my usual design as it was a scraplift, unfortunately I can't credit as I have lost the link but as soon as I find it I will let you know as she has wonderful ideas for cards.
I have been scrapping but not finished anything so I will be back soon hopefully with a page to show you.

Retro Sketches Challenge.

Last night I decided that I would make some cards for upcoming birthdays and thought I might be able to use Retro Sketches new challenge.
Here is their sketch for this week but I needed to make a male card so I adapted it to suit my needs.

I used my Nestabilities stars to make the focal point in the middle of the tag and moved the sentiment block down to the bottom. A bit of embossing and some faux stitching to finish it off and it is ready to be posted to the birthday boy!

Topiary Mice.

I have a page to show you today that I did using a PageMaps sketch, I do love their sketches and even though they have been producing sketches for years they seem to have an endless supply of new ideas. Worth checking out their blog if you are stuck for ideas and they do card sketches as well.

Here is my take on the sketch below with lots of faux stitching and bright American Crafts papers.
You may need to click on the page to see it clearer.

The children have broken up for the summer and the sun has finally made an appearance so hopefully we will get out and about and I will get some new photo's to scrap! Hope you are enjoying sunshine where you are.

Sketchbook 365 Challenge.

Happy Tuesday, the sun is shining!!!! Will it carry on for the children's summer holidays? We can only dream of trips to the beach, walking in the woods without coats and camping with friends in the garden.
On this lovely day I have a page to show you that I made using the sketch challenge from Sketchbook 365.

Here is the sketch that is the July Challenge.

This is my take on the sketch using the gorgeous My Little Shoe Box Enchanted Garden collection.

Here are some close-ups of the gorgeous flowers that I cut from the 'Classy' paper.

For the banner in the sketch I punched some little hearts using the scraps from the reverse of the papers that I cut up, I really love getting the use out of nearly every piece of pretty paper before I throw the scraps away.

I have a couple of other challenges to do and a baby card to make so hopefully I will be back soon.
Hope you are having a great week so far and the sun is shining where you are too.

Fabric Challenge.

Ok, if you are a regular visitor to my blog you will already have seen some of the challenges that my friend Helen and I have set each other and we met up on Friday to show off our layouts for our latest fabric challenge.

Here is my page with fabric flowers, circle and a fabric strip under the photo.

and a close up of the different flowers.

The colour of her daughters jumper matches the ruffle Helen has made from yellow fabric.

A close up of the ruffle and the lovely chenille swirls.

The next challenge was set during the cake break (eating cake helps our scrapping mojo, so is a must at our get together, that's our excuse and we are sticking to it!) and we have to use an item in our stash that we bought years ago and never used!
Hopefully it won't be too long before we get round to completing our challenge and then we can get together again.

Always Watching.

Now this page that I have to show you is one of those pages that I really wasn't happy with, as I did not know how to finish it off without cluttering it up. It is quite a busy page to start with with multi coloured photo's and bright papers, so I didn't want to add too much more but it was 'missing something'. It has been in my 'currently working on' box for many weeks and I was determined to get it done and put in an album.

I cut my title out of the same colour blue as the top of the tank in the photo and as the lid was shiny I put some liquid gloss on the letters to match. Just adding the title helped in bringing all the page together and then I decided to add some doodling to the edge and around the elements on the page. After hand writing the journaling straight onto the white space I was much happier with the finished page.

Here is a close up of the top corner where I added some twine and a button to add interest. (All the patterned papers are from Kay & Company).

I added a 'currently' printable but it didn't have 'Watching' on it so I added the word with a Dymo strip. The printable is from the generous lady at Creativity Prompt who has some wonderful freebies that you can download and use on your projects.

Well, I will be back soon with the FABRIC challenge that my friend Helen and I have set each other, so until then thanks for stopping by and wishing you a great weekend (it's nearly here!)

Boy Alert!

Whoa, there is a boy in the photo's of my scrapbook page! I am so not used to scrapping boy pages,  (having three daughters) but I must admit this one went together quite easily and quickly as I had lots of papers from the same paper line.

The challenge was to use circles, green and buttons and the papers I used are all Scenic Route 'Hampton' line.

Just a quick post today as I am up to HERE in jobs that need doing, unfortunately most are housework related! Hope you are having a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by.
